Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Ver. 2.0

Nintendo Switch released a new Youtube video describing all the new features that will be released on November 5, 2021. If you don’t already have Animal Crossing: New Horizons you can find it on the Nintendo eShop or any local game store. If you already have the game digitally downloaded or the physical card then on November 5th you will be eligible for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Ver. 2.0 Update!

Major Updates

The Roost

A cafe owned by the composed ‘Brewster’ — A cup of coffee is 200 bells. — You can run into camp residents at ‘The Roost’ — You can invite characters with compatible amiibo accessories in the cafe. Some people you choose to invite might bring company too.  — You can have a cup of coffee with island friends too!

Kapp’n

Kapp’n will be found hanging out on your pier — He’ll ferry you to a destination on his boat! (His pride and joy) Round trip will cost you 1,000 miles (Nook miles). It’s worth the boat ride through Kapp’n because he will sing to you as you go to your destination. That’s something DODO Airlines does not offer. — You will go to islands that Kapp’n only knows about. They are always different! Sometimes you go to an island at night with shooting stars, or an island mid-winter with snow!

Harvey's Island

Changes are going underway at Harvey’s Island. He wants to create a plaza with all sorts of shops with help from his long-time friend. Consider donating some bells to the cause. —  Familiar island visitors will eventually start to set up shop.

Group Stretches at the Plaza

Remember Nintendo Wii Fit? Nintendo brought back a little more nostalgia by intergrading group stretches that you can ACTUALLY do along with the game! — Friends can join along with you when visiting your island!

Town Hall

Isabella (Resident Representative) can now enact island ordinances. An example would be the ‘Early Bird” ordinance. This will make all the island residents awake and active earlier in the morning. You can pick the ordinance that bus suits your island lifestyle. — on the other side of the Town Hall building is Tom Nook (construction consultation). Home services that are offered have an update coming too! Now with more exterior options to meet your island theme/ landscape.

Nook Miles

New items will be added to the Nook terminal located in City Hall. All of these items will be available for Nook miles. — Cooking will now be available through DIY Recipes+. You will be able to grow your own plants and make meals. Yes…actually be able to cook like Cooking Mama.

Pro Decorating License

With the Pro Decorating License, you will be able to design a bit more than you were before. You will now be able to add ceiling decor to each room and give accent walls a different pattern.

Pro Construction License

The maximum number of bridges and inclines on an island has moved from 8 to 10. Along with 9 new fence types allowing you to diversify your island even more to your liking.

Pro Camera App

Yes, even the camera on your Nook phone is getting an update! You will now get to have hand held camera view. It’s as if you are looking through the eyes of your village character. You can change to tripod mode and take photos by your island visitors! This opens the world to a whole new perspective of angles and new memories to be made!

Custom Designs Patterns+

Patterns that were previously used for customizing items can now be worn or used as flooring and wallpaper.

New Reactions Notebook

11 New reactions are going to be added to your Reactions Notebook.

Island Life 101

A new Nook phone app is coming with the update too. Island Life 101 provides tips and information on enjoying your island.

Redeem Nook Miles

When redeeming nook miles there will be lots of new furniture that you can place on your Island. A handy tool that will be available with the update is a ‘Storage Shed’. I know it sounds funny but it makes sense why it got added. The ‘Storage Shed’ is extra storage ON TOP of the 3 times expansion in house storage.

Automatic Bell Dispenser (ATM)

You will now have an ABD (ATM) that you will get to place on your island. Yes, that means no more running to City Hall for your Bells.

Squeezoid

Tired of always finding fossils in the ground and nothing really… interesting? Well, Nintendo has changed that with the update too. You can now dig up these ‘Gyroid’ or ‘Gyroid Fragment’. If you find a Gyroid fragment you are supposed to bury it in a hole to plant it and water it. They will mature into a Gyroid overnight! If they grow on your island, then you may seem to find more the day after it rains. The combinations of Gyroids make different sounds and noises making them an endless craft. You can also customize your Gyroid to fit your house theme!

Nooks Cranny

Tom and Timmy have been hard at work bringing you a bunch of new furniture types to Nooks Cranny. The shop will also have never before seen furniture come its way.

Wooden Ladder Set-up Kit

A new craft item is available for purchase at Nooks Cranny in the sliding door cabinet. You will be able to craft…yes craft not pay for a wooden ladder that you can leave at cliffs to easily get up and down them.

Navigate Tight Spaces

Now you are able to place furniture closer and do a sidestep to get around smaller/ narrow spaces.

Lastly and Most Important

Remember to keep talking to your island visitors and friends. With the update, you will be able to get invited over or invite village friends over to your house!
