Bunnies

My husband and I were at the flea market when we spotted a bunny under a table, behind the sellers. We asked how much…$17, $30 with a cage. We went home with a bunny that day! Never in my life did I imagine the work it takes to care for a bunny. They are such high-maintenance animals it’s crazy! We truly love our bunny. There have been countless times when we let him run wild with the animals in the kitchen to get a social life with the other animals.

Bunnies normally love to be in a small dark place to rest and relax. This allows them to feel safe. My bunny Tophis loves to just chill, and see what’s going on with everyone. He hardly ever goes into his hut to hide.

In California, we started getting 100.F weather in April! It’s crazy! so my husband and I went out to get the bunny a cage that he will be able to rest in inside while it was hot outside. Just a simple search on google and we were able to find out that bunnies should not be outside past 80.F but they are very good at being able to withstand the cold or even snow!

Some of the big things I see for people that normally don’t want to put a bunny in a house would be water packs. You may have heard freezing water bottles and putting those in there, or the ice pack you would put in your lunch box. These are methods that work but I personally don’t like them for the reason that my bunny will chew on everything. Another great way to keep them out of the heat would be an indoor cage.

Tophie is super good with our other animals. He doesn’t scratch or bite and the same for our other animals. We also give the bunny uncured wood for him to chew on and play.
