Before Shopping

After talking about what one month of extreme couponing could do I thought… how many people really know… what to do.

Well, I’m going to walk through how I do my coupons and ads. Everyone does theirs differently so it’s okay if the one on Youtube makes more sense. As long as the savings still match up.

One of the most important things to note is you must sign up with both apps in order to get full rewards and benefits. It’s completely free to sign up. Purchasing a membership is completely up to you (I do not have a membership through either company).

CVS and Walgreens both have digital coupons so if you have a paper coupon you can add that to the coupon they have digitally.

Let’s talk about what both stores have in common.

On both apps, you can view their newspaper ad and it even tells you if there is a manufacturing coupon to cut or if there is a Digital coupon to send to your digital wallet connected to your phone number.

CVS Coupon Center

CVS

Let’s talk about this very beautiful image to the left. That is the very first thing you go to when you walk into CVS. This beautiful machine prints coupons based on your shopping habits.

Along With this, you have your online coups you can clip beforehand.

Walgreens

They don’t have a beautiful machine that prints coupons you will love on-demand for walking in but… if you make a purchase where walgreens will OWE you money back, they sadly will not be able to pay you the money back. So they have these super yummy and cheap little cash register caramels for $0.35 that you can throw in to use a full coupon amount or like I said meet the minimum spending threshold.

During Checkout

Its super important to pay attention to prices scanned. You really don’t want to take your eyes away because you need to make sure the $2.99 tube of toothpaste is really that or you can get stuck paying an extra $1. I know down to the penny each transaction so if it doesn’t match what I have then I know there is an error in the products or the sale isn’t coming up.

CVS is so much fun during check out. The digital coupons don’t hit until they ask for your phone number… and they always ask last after getting the total. This is when I see the most dramatic price drop.

Once Done

Look over your receipts and see if you got any extra coupons, look for the bonus money, survey money, anything really that can help you save more.

I usually will pose it all on the table and send a photo to my mother-in-law who loves to see what I’m doing with extreme couponing.
