SAHM

Well, let’s start it back with me being a stay-at-home wife for about 2 years before we got pregnant. I would mainly be home taking care of the house, my husband, and my mother-in-law. Once pregnant it was still the same until suddenly my water broke 2 months early!

Things changed dramatically. You can read more about the birth of my son HERE

Not long after my son came home we found out we were pregnant again!

My daughter was born 1 month early but was still extremely small. She spent 5 days in the NICU and came home at 4lbs 8 oz.

From there it was just adjusting with the craziness. Iv found that the tiny time you have, you have to take advantage of it. That means when my son is in his highchair I have just enough time to sweep the kitchen and possibly mop

Challenges

“It takes a village to raise a child”

Now imagine two kids in one year?! It truly has its difficulties but its so worth it!

Sure you might have two kids screaming for milk and wanting to be held at the same time but once the chaos settles and they are playing you don’t even think about what was going on other than them playing together.

I think one of the true challenges is coordinating doctor appointments for two kids.

Milo has to see an eating specialist, a developmental, a gastroenterologist, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist.  Juggling all of these appointments along with ‘well child’ checkups for both children is crazy!  Milo doesn’t have any more blood in his brain but the effects of the brain hemorrhage remain.

Coordinating two kids

Iv said it before and I’ll say it again. Jose works from home so it makes juggling two kids a lot easier but still crazy.

When we wake up Jose takes the baby and spends his one-on-one time with her early. At this time I spend my one-on-one time with Milo in bed.

When we get up I make Milo his breakfast and give Mia her bottle. It is such a blessing that Milo can handle solids independently. This allows time for Mia to get a diaper change, a bottle, and some sibling playtime.

Milo usually takes a 10 am nap. when he does that’s when I shift all my focus to Mia. She’s currently only 4 months old and supports herself sitting!

It does seem impossible to take care of two kids, a whole house, trying to garden, and meal prepping but it is possible!
