Well, I finally had the baby! I felt like I was pregnant forever. Mia was born 1 month early! That makes her and Milo nine months apart.
It was a very crazy birth. I labored for four days then she was almost born in the car on the way to the hospital. She was born at 36 weeks 2 days. She weighed in at 4lbs 13oz.
Milo got to be there after the birth with my husband. Sadly they both missed it because Jose had to park and then pull Milo out of the car. They came into a room with the baby crying and the umbilical cord already cut.
If you’ve been here for a while then you know that when Milo was born, he was born 9 weeks early so we were not able to cut the umbilical cord, or even hold him for 3 days after the birth. He stayed in the NICU for 48 days before he came home. Milo’s birth weight was 3lbs 4oz. He came home at 6lbs 8oz.
Mia, was in the NICU for 5 days and came home weighing 4lbs 8oz.
When we picked up Mia from the hospital I was so happy to bring her home. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to juggle a 9-month-old who is still learning to sit and a newborn who wants to be held. As time has gone on iv been able to figure things out.
We have a perfect juggle of how we keep the kids occupied, and content. I truly believe we can do this so easily because my husband works from home.
Iv also came to realize how not practical a lot of the things we got for our first were never used. But also how we needed to get things for our second that we would have loved for our first. The one universal thing that both of my kids shared is the Velcro swaddle wraps.
