What to expect at 18 weeks pregnant
Im currently 18 weeks pregnant and loving every last piece of it! Here is what I have to look forward to in the coming weeks.
Pregnancy Update at 18 weeks.
In my early pregnancy I would struggle with bleeding that lead to me being on bed rest most of my first trimester. If you struggle with bed rest I recommend reading my previous blog on how to help with it. You can find that blog here.
In the last two and a half weeks iv been getting whats called quickening movements! That means iv been feeling the baby move around here and there. Its nothing big like a full punch but its enough for me to feel almost like a gas bubble but its small, and slightly different. Its such an amazing feeling! On top of this my morning sickness has completely gone away allowing me to fully enjoy my pregnancy to its potential.
Common symptoms at 18 weeks pregnant.
At 18 weeks pregnant you may experience some, all, or none of the following symptoms.
-Bleeding gums
-Swollen Gums
-Stomach pains
-Leg Cramps
-Round ligament Pain
-Swelling in feet & ankles
Things to look forward to
At 18 weeks pregnant you might of already had your second trimester ultrasound or are going to be having it soon. This ultrasound is commonly known as the anatomy scan. If you have not been able to find out the gender of your little bell pepper, you will be during this appointment! That is if your baby isn’t being shy and you are able to get a good view of the gender.
During this ultrasound you may get a 3D or 4D ultrasound to check baby has all 10 fingers and all 10 toes. This ultra sound can go from 25-40 minutes. After this you will be taking a glucose test in the following weeks to make sure you aren’t developing gestational diabetes.
